After School Activities

Pasir Ridge International School offers a variety of after school activities and clubs that provide all students with a well-balanced educational experience.
  • ASA sessions last a length of a trimester, usually 8-10 weeks. Activities meet once a week for 1 hour and are taught by PRIS teachers or adults within our community.
  • Most activities are free of charge however, if there is a fee, it must be paid before the sessions starts at the PRIS main office.
  • All students must sign a “code of conduct” stating that they will demonstrate respect and responsibility for the instructor and other participants.
Parents: if you have an area of expertise that you would like to share with students at PRIS, please let us know.

You can change the day you do the activity and have rest days when it suits you best. If you are tired, skip that day and perhaps double up later in the week or forget it all together. Your body may really need rest. Don’t worry if you miss a training day- relax and have fun! *If the distances do not challenge you enough in your training, add more time in the first 4 weeks of training. About 5 minutes for each activity.

Lets get ready for a challenge, the P.E. Challenge!
This activity is for 4th-5th graders and is designed to help students improve and master many different skills. Students are challenged to pass six different skills in a period of time. Students can try as many times as they like to pass a test.

The P.E. Challenge skills are as follows:
  • Jump Rope- jump rope for 90 seconds without missing.
  • Hula Hoop- use a hula hoop around the waist for 20 seconds.
  • Bounce Ups- bounce a tennis ball on a racquet for 60 seonds while staying in a 3-4' area.
  • Volley Up- use a ball in a group of three persons. You must hit the ball up 10 times. Each person must hit it at least twice.
  • Balance Shuffle- using a balance beam, two people start at opposite ends, pass by one another and continue to the other end without falling off or touching the ground.
  • Throw and Catch- two students must throw a ball 30 times without dropping the ball from a distance of 25ft.(cannot use a glove).

This activity is not required but is highly recommended. It is fun and a positive way to improve basic skills. Students can practice at home, during recess, before or after school. Students can take tests by checking with Mrs. Fullerton.

TRACK MEET

FRIENDSHIP GAMES

This year we will be hosting KPS, AIS and Ecole Total. It is going to be a great morning of races and field events.

The track meet will start at 8:30am.

Remember to bring: running shoes, shorts/clothes that you can move in, hat, sun screen, healthy snacks, water bottle and swim items(swim suit, towel, goggles) AND a personal bag to keep track of your things!

Below are three field event clips to help you better understand what the event should look like.

High Jump is both a boys and girls event. You have three chances to clear each new height.
If you miss three times at a single height, you are eliminated.

Long Jump is both a boys and girls event. You will have three jumps that are marked,
provided you do not scratch (step over the line during the jump).

Shot Put is both a boys and girls event. But, the shot puts are different weights.

You will have three throws that are marked, provided you do not scratch (step over the toe board during the throw or throw out of bounds).
